Jordan is gone

Well Jordan left for Afghanistan on Tues the 26th of May. He flew out of Colorado Springs, landed in Maine from there he went to Leipzig, Germany. He ended up in Kyrgizstan, from there he flew to Kandahar. Tomorrow he will fly to FOB Terminator. Where that is I have no idea but the general area is in the southern region. He is doing well and is safe for the most part. I have no idea what he will be doing out there. I don't know how much or how often we will be in contact. He won't know till he starts getting settled in. I'm sure for at least the first month things will be crazy busy for him and he won't be able to have much free time. Their First Sergeant is a bit extreme. This is Jordan's second deployment but his first one was in Iraq. This one will be a lot different. They won't be doing the same things. When I have an exact address for him I will let you all know as well as the approved and non-approved items that you may send if anyone does want to send out a care package.

As for Alex and I we are doing just fine. She is still young enough that she doesn't realize that daddy is gone but I do talk to her everyday about him and I show her his picture. Hopefully one of these days she will retain a little bit of what I am saying. I'm doing great. This time around isn't as hard because it is my second deployment, but is almost harder because I have Alex to look after and he is in a different area and I don't know what he will be doing and what it will be like for him. But all of us are safe and well.

Weekend fun

So I had a pretty interesting weekend. On Friday we tried planning a couples dinner night but the guys ended up working pretty late so just us girls went. Heather F, Heather G, Alex and myself. It was fun we went to Friday's, I know the irony is killing me. We went to TGI Friday's on a Friday. Anyways... Well it was fun just hanging out talking girl talk. While we were at dinner Heather G received a text message from Jess asking if the girsl still wanted to have dinner before the guys leave and she moves. We said we were interested but there were things that we needed to talk to her about. Of course she immediately changed her mind and said she didn't have enough money, but we know it was an excuse to get out of talking to us. We are all trying to be adults and just brush off some of the things she has been saying, but about a week ago she posted a blog saying some pretty stupid things. Many of which just were plain false. She never named names but you could tell by the things she was saying that she was talking about me and the 2 heathers. We all have been trying to be as nice to her as we can and just let go of the things she was saying but she went a little far with the blog. But maybe she will start acting like the adult she is and have a nice sit down discussion so we can let her know what she was saying was false. But enough about that. Well Saturday was altogether a pretty interesting day/night. We went over to Laura and Brent Woodwards for a BBQ. There were about 20 people there, some of which were kids. We had a great time laughing and talking and eating and playing games. We were outside just talking and we had some music playing and it was about 10 pm and the cops showed up. The funny thing is we know who called the cops, because for about and hour before the cops came there was this girl staring out her window at us and then staring at us when and after the cops came. Apparently she didn't like that we were talking and laughing and being loud, but really we weren't. I think it just seemed like that because when you have 12 or so people all trying to talk at once it tends to get kind of loud, as anyone in my family would know. We didn't get in trouble we were just asked to turn off the music and be quiet. Which we just went inside after that. I have never been to a get together where the cops have been called so it was pretty interesting. They were joking with us, which made it all the more fun. I don't know why but it did. Altogether a good night. Then yesterday on Sunday Jordan got called back into work. Apparently till they leave they are on a 2 hour recall, meaning when they get a call from their leader they have 2 hours to come into work. Apparently a couple of companies in the battalion have had a few problems and the BC(battalion commander) is getting fed up with it. Which I don't blame them because people are getting in trouble for the stupidest things. When you put that much testosterone in one place things are bound to happen but I guess it's been much worse than normal. Although Jordan's company is not the ones getting in trouble, which I am very grateful for. At least I know the guys Jordan is friends with aren't trouble makers. Well that was my weekend. Alex is, as always, steadily getting bigger and cuter. She is almost talking. She loves to babble but I know one of these days a full sentence will come out of her mouth when I least suspect it. Right now she points at everything and does this little whine to get what she wants is she can't reach it. Otherwise I make her do it herself. She is very independent. I wonder where she gets that from. :)

Story of my life

Well it's been a typical day for me. Waking up, getting the baby fed and ready. Getting me ready. Seeing Jordan off to work and thinking about making dinner tonight. I did go to this place called Puttin on the Paint with some friends. I painted a butterfly for Alex. I get to pick it up next Monday since it takes a week for fire and glaze. Although I do have a party to look forward to this weekend. I am having some of the couples in the platoon over for couples game night. I'm super excited, yes I do realize I'm staying home but I don't mind since we will be having company. Besides it's a lot easier than trying to find a babysitter, plus a lot cheaper. We are getting closer to the day Jordan leaves, don't have a date yet but I know it will be in a month or so. Just one more thing to look forward to as an Army wife. Anyways I really don't have much to say today. I realize it's been awhile since I wrote, but really my life isn't that fascinating. I'm pretty boring, besides I haven't eaten lunch yet and I'm starving. So TTFN.

Jordan's Home

So I guess I could start by saying Jordan is home. He came home on January 30th. So he has been home for a little while I just haven't been on here to update that info. It is very nice to have him home. Although he is very busy at work during the days at least I get some time with him at night. Of course that is after Alex goes to bed. Another good thing about Jordan being home, besides the fact that I don't worry about him, is he helps out with Alex. I love being a mother but it is definately a lot of work. I don't mind it in the least but there are days when an extra hand isn't appreciated. I guess I could tell you the big, but sad news, Jordan will be deploying either the last week of April or the first week of May. I'm trying to convince one of the wives from Jordan's platoon to come move in with me so we are both not so lonely when the guys deploy but I don't know how successful I'm being. I do plan on making trips to Utah as frequently as possible so that should help with the loneliness as well. This deployment will be the hardest for both of us since this one will be the worst one as far as condition and area. I knowthat he will be with some very great guys so I'm not too worried.

Boring

There is nothing new to report. Although I have been keeping myself busy running a bunch of errands this week. I did hear from Jordan that they will be deploying in April, but as far as how official that is I don't know. Alex is starting to get 2 more teeth. She is doing so much better as far as walking goes. She has a little walker that she loves to travel around the house with. She keeps me busy.

Jordan is gone

Well Jordan has gone to Louisiana. He left on Wednesday morning. He says for now the days are warm but the nights are cold. Luckily he gets pretty good reception out there so we can talk and catch up. Alex misses daddy a lot. She is always saying dada bye bye and she waves. So she knows that dad isn't home and that he is gone. Which is really bitter sweet. She is getting so close to walking on her own. She will let go of the couch and walk a couple of steps to her toys but I can get her to walk a little bit farther with some encouragement. So any day now I will have a walking soon to be toddler. Pretty soon she will be running, which I can wait for that day to come. You never fully realize how fast people grow up till you have a child of your own and see it for yourself. I can't believe that Alex is already 15 months old. Time flies when you're having fun.

Home at last.

From December 16th to January 2nd I was in Utah visiting my family for Christmas. Jordan was able to come out for a weekend visit from the 20th to the 23rd. Unfortunately he was unable to get leave to come out for Christmas. Alex and I enjoyed all of our time in Utah but are both glad to be home and in our own beds. Alex is sleeping peacefully and so am I. Jordan will be leaving at 3:30 a.m. on Wednesday morning to go to Louisiana for JRTC training before he gets sent on another tour, this time to Afghanistan. Alex is getting sick which is not so fun for me but she is taking it like a champ. She is doing well and is heathy as a horse. As far as we know she is great and there are no complications and we expect no complications due to her gastroschisis but of course there is no guarantee we just have to watch and make sure nothing different pops up.
